TAPROOM STAFF
JOB PURPOSE:
North Park Beer Company looks to hire positive, hard-working, charismatic, kind, and enthusiastic humans to join our expanding team. Prior experience in a fast-paced, high-volume setting is a plus but not required. Taproom Staff will focus on creating a beer- and food-centric experience and providing friendly, knowledgeable, and responsive hospitality that will create an exceptional experience for guests at all locations. This position will be responsible for working in multiple customer service roles within the Taproom, including -- but not limited to -- welcoming guests; following and communicating company policies and safety protocols; describing, selling, and pouring staple and seasonal brews; taking food and beer orders; and serving as an “expert” on the company, our products, and the craft beer and food industry.
**We do not hire for specific locations. If hired, you will be scheduled to work at our locations in North Park, Bankers Hill, and Crown Point**
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Immediately welcome and greet all guests with enthusiasm and friendliness.

Explain company safety requirements to guests and guide them through their experience.

Provide excellent hospitality to all guests, engage the guests in conversation, create regulars, and maximize the guest experience.

Respond promptly and appropriately to all guest requests and concerns.

Perform bartending, bussing, and expo’ing duties, demonstrating flexibility in job role and a team-oriented attitude toward service.

Educate all guests about the staple and seasonal brews available on the current draft menu, the history and culture of the brewery and the craft beer industry, and the differences between styles.

Take food orders, ensure food quality and presentation, and serve food to customers in a timely and professional manner.

Educate guests on all food and beer offerings, including seasonal selections, daily specials, and pairing recommendations..

Use care and proper technique when pouring, paying special attention to correct style glassware and “Beer Clean” cleanliness.

Wash and sterilize glassware (taking care to remove latent lipstick or other stubborn residue).

Consistently work to increase knowledge of craft beer and beverages, including attending training and meetings put on by brewery management, to relate that knowledge to customers.

Ensure consistent stocking of beer inventory, supplies, merchandise, food items, and/or packaged products for sale to guests.

Follow all company and CDC-recommended safety and sanitation protocols, including food safety practices.

Maintain a clean and sanitary service environment through frequent bussing and cleaning of guest, employee, and shared spaces.

Promptly report all equipment issues to the General Manager or Supervisor on Duty and collaborate with staff to ensure high-quality draft maintenance.

Learn to operate the Point of Sales system proficiently.

Complete cash handling and credit card transactions accurately.

Follow all checklists and standard operating procedures.

Maintain the highest customer service and professionalism with guests, management, and co-workers. Demonstrate flexibility in scheduling and assist as needed, ensuring all shifts are appropriately staffed.

Apply all guidelines for responsible alcohol service.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Prior experience in a restaurant, brewery, or hospitality setting is preferred but not required.
- Possess a strong work ethic and a team-oriented attitude.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with culinary and front-of-house teams.
- Possess or be able to obtain a San Diego Food Handler’s Card.
- Possess awareness of food safety and sanitation practices.
- Able to communicate effectively and be understood in English.
- Able to lift and carry heavy objects (up to 50 lbs.) and stand/walk for extended periods of time.
- Able to work in crowded and confined spaces.
- Maintain a professional appearance and positive attitude while working under pressure.

Minimum wage ($17.75) plus tips
