POSITION SUMMARY
North Park Beer Company is looking for an experienced HR & People Operations Manager to join our team.
Founded in San Diego in 2016, NPBC has grown to approximately 70 employees across our brewery, taprooms, kitchens, sales, and administrative teams. We are looking for someone to take ownership of our day-to-day HR processes and provide consistent support to employees and managers across the company.
This is a hands-on, part-time role that will work closely with ownership, company leadership, our bookkeeping/payroll team, benefits partners, and an experienced outside HR consultant.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Maintain employee records, HRIS information, benefits, and personnel changes
- Coordinate recruiting, candidate communication, interviews, and offer paperwork
- Facilitate new-hire orientation and onboarding
- Serve as a resource for employee questions and day-to-day HR needs
- Support managers with documentation, performance management, and employee relations
- Coordinate leave, workers' compensation, and other employee administration
- Maintain HR policies, required documentation, training, and compliance tracking
- Coordinate performance-review and employee-feedback processes
- Support workforce reporting, compensation reviews, and other people-related projects

Identify opportunities to improve HR processes and the employee experience
Operational leaders remain responsible for managing their teams, making hiring decisions, and maintaining performance standards. This role provides the HR support, organization, and follow-through needed to help managers do that effectively.
NPBC also works with an experienced outside HR consultant who is available to support complex or sensitive matters.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Progressive HR experience, preferably supporting hospitality, restaurants, breweries, retail, manufacturing, or another hourly workforce
- Strong working knowledge of California employment practices
- Experience with employee relations, recruiting, onboarding, benefits, and HR administration
- Experience working with HRIS systems and payroll-related employee information
- Experience supporting and coaching managers
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Good judgment, follow-through, discretion, and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and recognize when a matter should be escalated
HR certification such as PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, or a California-focused HR credential is preferred but not required.
SCHEDULE:
This is a part-time, nonexempt position averaging approximately 25-30 hours per week. The role will primarily be scheduled on weekdays and will work in person across NPBC's San Diego locations. Some schedule flexibility may occasionally be needed to support our hospitality operations.

REPORTS TO: Ownership, CFO
POSITION TYPE: Part Time, Non Exempt
COMPENSATION: $40-45 per hour, depending on experience.
